Membership
There are five classes of membership in the IDAANP:
Regular, Associate, Supporting, Honorary, Student/New Graduate

MEMBERSHIP DEFINITIONS

Regular Member
s are naturopathic physicians who meets one of the following
criteria:
1) S/He is a naturopathic physician who is a graduate of a college of naturopathic
medicine recognized by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP)
or the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education Corporation (CNME).
2) S/He shall be a naturopathic physician holding a current license from a state or
jurisdiction whose license is acceptable to the AANP.
3) In the case where a college no longer exists and therefore is not eligible for review
by the CNME, alumni of the college may apply to the American Association of
Naturopathic Physicians Board of Directors for evaluation/recognition of their
education program. The AANP will approve colleges which have been recognized by a
state for purposes of licensure.
4) The IDAANP in concert with the AANP reserves the right to review exceptions to
the above criteria and grant Regular Membership on an individual basis.

Associate Members are licensed healthcare practitioners wishing to support the
purposes of this Association, who are not eligible for membership as Regular
Members, who meet the criteria established for this category of membership
established in the Association policy documents, and who are individually recognized
as appropriate by the Membership Committee.

Supporting Members are individuals or entities wishing to support the purposes of
this Association, who are not eligible for other membership classifications and who are
individually recognized as appropriate by the Membership Committee.

Honorary Membership may be conferred by a majority vote of the Association
membership upon any individual and/or entity for extraordinary service, contribution
and/or longevity in this Association and/or the naturopathic community.

New Graduate Members are first year alumni of a college whose graduates are
eligible for Regular membership. The period of eligibility for New Graduate
membership will be one year from date of graduation.

CNME Student Members are enrolled in a college whose graduates are eligible for
Regular Membership.
